Mitchell Chess, MD obtained his medical degree at Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons in NY, NY. He completed his Transitional Year Internship at Hackensack Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ. He then went on to complete residency in Diagnostic Radiology University of Rochester Medical Center, in Rochester, NY. He completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University Of Rochester Medical Center and holds a life time certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Pediatric Radiology. Since his fellowship Dr. Chess has worked with many radiologists in Western NY and Pennsylvania via teleradiology. He has served at various times as Chairman at several area hospitals, including Clifton Springs Hospital, St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, Olean General Hospital, St. Jeromes Hospital in Batavia, and Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Brockport. While a specialist in Pediatric and Neuro Imaging, Dr. Chess also works frequently in Women's Imaging/ mammography, as well as ultrasound, including obstetric ultrasound for which he is certified to assess early fetal screening. Dr. Chess has a strong background in outpatient imaging.

Location Comments: Welcome to University Medical Imaging, where the experience is better. Your doctor has ordered a radiology exam, and understandably, you're a little nervous. Not to worry. At UMI we'll be with you every step of the way. Everything we do is designed to give you a comfortable imaging experience. Prior to your visit, a Care Coordinator will call to confirm your appointment and answer any questions you may have. When you arrive, a staff member will walk you through the process so you know exactly what to expect. During your exam, a Technologist will be there to ensure everything goes smoothly. And afterward, your images will be reviewed by your Radiologist, a physician who specializes in interpreting radiology exams. Our Radiologists are leaders in their field and will ensure the highest degree of accuracy and collaborate with your doctor in your care. At UMI, we never forget the human side of imaging.
