Dr. Nicholas completed his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and residencies in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester and Preventive Medicine at the New York State Department of Health. Dr. Nicholas is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Preventive Medicine. He is a geriatrician hospitalist and provides palliative care services to patients at Highland Hospital as part of the Highland Hospital Geriatrics Group. He also serves as Associate Medical Director at the Highlands at Brighton Transitional Care Facility. Dr. Nicholas also serves as the lead Clinical Architect for the URMC electronic health record. His academic interests include co-management of geriatric surgical patients, medical cognition and decision making, and medical education.
