Todd M. Holmquist, MD, received his undergraduate degree from Luther College in Decorah, IA in 1996. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2004. His clinical training included an internship and neurology residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. After completing his residency in 2008, Dr. Holmquist joined the University of Rochester faculty as a Senior Instructor while pursuing a vascular neurology fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, which he received in 2009. Dr. Holmquist is board-certified in both Neurology and Vascular Neurology. He is also certified by the American Society of Neuroimaging in neurosonology. He provides inpatient and outpatient care for patients with cerebrovascular disease. He is actively involved with clinical research in acute stroke treatment as well as secondary stroke prevention. He is the director of the University of Rochester neurovascular laboratory and actively interprets carotid and transcranial ultrasound studies. Dr. Holmquist is involved in a number of department and hospital-wide committees. He is in the process of completing a LEAN (quality improvement) training course and looks forward to applying these skills to a number of projects across the department of neurology. Dr. Holmquist is actively involved in medical student and resident education.
