I have always believed that people have inherent strength and resilience and that during difficult times, it is an act of strength to lean on others or ask for help when it is needed. I view my role as a therapist and counselor as one of support and collaboration. I will work together with you as you regain or rediscover your own strengths and develop solutions to the problems and concerns that are bringing you to therapy. My approach to therapy and counseling is "integrative." This means that I draw from several different types of therapy (psychodynamic, interpersonal, cognitive behavioral, client-centered, family systems methods, etc.) to find what will best meet the needs of any given patient. I also strive to understand the person as a whole, including relationship and other environmental or contextual factors that influence your life and functioning. I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of New York. I have a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rochester and completed two years of postdoctoral training at the University of Rochester Medical Center, specializing in Primary Care Family Psychology and Women's Health. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and Genesee Valley Psychological Association. As a licensed psychologist, I have training in the diagnosis and treatment of psychological, emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal problems in adults, couples, and families. I have been practicing since 2005, working with adults, couples, and families in different settings, including a hospital-based community mental health center, a specialty fertility clinic, an obstetric/gynecology medical practice, a university counseling center, and a community family center. In addition to seeing therapy patients in my practice, I consult and provide lifestyle coaching at a multidisciplinary clinic for women with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), particularly those with weight management goals.
