Dr. Humaira Hashmi received her medical degree from Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, Pakistan with honors in anatomy and did her residency in Pediatrics in Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey. She joined Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship program in July 2005. Dr. Hashmi completed her fellowship in June 2008 and has been a faculty member through 2014. In addition to patient care, she has been actively involved in teaching and clinical studies. She will continue her academic and research contributions in her field of expertise. Dr. Hashmi sees infants, children and adolescents with wide spectrum of gastrointeintestinal diseases and performs gastrointestinal procedures in pediatric and adolescent patients. She has special interest in managing children and adolescents with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and is actively involved in local and national studies. Dr. Hashmi is an active member of North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. She is also an active member of the Gastroenterology Women's Coalition. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Dr. Hashmi is accredited by the Royal College of Physician Educators and contributed to numerous publications and texbook chapters.
