The focus of my practice is integrated care, rather than fragmented care. As a medical psychotherapist, I specialize in the assessment of multiple influences that may cause problems for individuals, couples or families. I teach families how to become health advocates for themselves and for their loved ones. I am a Physician trained in the specialties of Family Medicine, Marriage & Family Therapy and Family Systems Medicine (a Bio-Psycho-Social model of healthcare). In this office, I do not see patients as a primary care physician, but I offer each patient the combination of my experience in all these fields during our visits. My treatment style is interactive, educational and collaborative. The theoretical model I use is family systems, integrated with cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused and emotionally-focused techniques. We may also utilize role plays, drawing, writing, genograms (family trees), guided imagery and relaxation techniques. I believe that the more senses we can engage in therapy, the better the treatment outcome!
