Scott Tripler, MD, after completing a BA at Williams College in 1981, received his MD degree in 1985 from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. From 1985 to 1986 Dr. Tripler completed a transitional internship at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York, and served as a volunteer physician in Tanzania, Africa for five months. Dr. Tripler completed the University of Rochester Family Medicine Residency program in 1990 at Highland Hospital and practiced in the semi-rural setting of Palmyra/Macedon, New York for ten years, until he joined the fulltime faculty. In addition to practicing family medicine, Dr. Tripler was asked to provide medical services to Mobil Chemical Corporation in an occupational setting, as well as serve as a medical director for an agency that cares for individuals with developmental disabilities. During that time in Palmyra/Macedon, Dr. Tripler became actively involved in practice-based research (ASPN), as well as teaching medical students and nurse practitioners.
