Dr. Van Sickel completed both his medicine and radiology training in Rochester at Rochester General Hospital and was Chief Resident in Radiology the final year of his residency training. As the Program Director of the Radiology Residency Program at RGH and the course director of Radiology for RIT, Dr. Van Sickel has spent countless hours involved in the training of future radiologists and physician's assistants. He is greatly admired by the trainees as an excellent educator, voted 'Attending Teacher of the Year' in 2009. Although Dr. Van Sickel's main focus is breast imaging and intervention, he has a broad range of specialty interests within the field of radiology, including specialized ultrasound, image-guided procedures, women's imaging, and abdominal/body imaging including CT colonography/virtual colonoscopy.
