Oral Surgeon Nicholas Schellati, DDS, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed extensive training in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. This includes dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants and bone grafting, oral pathology and facial reconstructive surgery, corrective jaw surgery and facial cosmetic surgery. He started his career receiving his Bachelor of Biological Sciences (BS) degree from Fordham University in New York City. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with honors from the University of Buffalo. After dental school, he trained at a fully accredited 6 year dual degreed oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Buffalo. Dr Schellati is a physician, receiving his medical degree (MD) from this same institution. He has completed an internship in general surgery, where he treated patients with full scope general surgical needs, including acute trauma patients at a level one trauma facility. Dr. Schellati is extensively trained in anesthesia techniques and certified by the state of NY to provide anesthesia and intravenous sedation to his patient population while performing oral and maxillofacial procedures. He holds a faculty appointment at the University of Rochester and is involved in oral and maxillofacial surgery resident training. He also currently holds staff privileges at Strong Memorial Hospital and Rochester General Hospital.
