Dr. Raj Pyne is a board certified interventional radiologist who specializes in minimally invasive procedures. His main clinical interests and expertise involve treating varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency, for which he is the director of the The Vein Institute at Rochester Radiology. He also has extensive experience with interventional oncology, which involves focused minimally invasive cancer treatments, especially with chemoembolization or CT-guided tumor ablation. His other interests include balloon kyphoplasty, complex embolizations of high-flow arteriovenous and slow-flow venous malformations, as well as uterine fibroid embolization – for which he recently co-authored an article in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology entitled "Uterine Artery Embolization in the Treatment of Postpartum Uterine Hemorrhage". Dr. Pyne was also voted as the 'Attending Teacher of the Year' for the past year by the radiology residents.
