Dr. Schallek was born and raised in Buffalo. She graduated from Colgate University, and obtained her M.D. and her doctorate in Pharmacology from SUNY Upstate Medical University. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She served her residency in internal medicine and completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Rochester. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and board-eligible in Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Schallek has completed research projects with the National Institutes of Health and Harvard Medical School and has presented at international conferences. She is a peer reviewer for the Heart Rhythm Journal and has been honored with numerous awards, including the Lawrence E. Young Prize for dedication to patient care.
