Mick Krasner, MD, FACP, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed medical school in 1987 at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at the University of Rochester and now limits his practice to Primary Care Internal Medicine. Dr. Krasner has been teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to patients, medical students, and health care professionals for over 8 years, involving nearly 800 participants. He is engaged in a variety of research projects including the investigation of the effects of mindfulness practices on the immune system in the elderly and on medical student stress and well-being as well as the effects on health care professionals' well being. He is very interested in the connection between health care professional well-being and the effectiveness of the healing relationship.
