Dr. Carrier is a Rochester native living in the area since he was 2 years old. He went to Pittsford-Mendon High School and graduated from Union College in 1984 with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation from the University of Rochester Medical School in 1990, he continued there for his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Carrier is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He currently is a clinical instructor for Physician Assistant students from a number of local colleges and was formerly part of the teaching faculty for the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester. Dr. Carrier performs a wide variety of surgeries from simple carpal tunnel releases to complex joint replacement reconstructions. Total hip and total knee replacements, rotator cuff repairs, knee and shoulder arthroscopies, ACL reconstructions and fracture repair are some of the more common surgeries that he does.
