Dr. Hess received his Ph.D in organic chemistry at Purdue University under one of the world's greatest chemists, 1979 Nobel Prize laureate Professor HC Brown. After completion of his doctorate, he became interested in natural medical therapies, leading to his study of medicine. He received his M.D. from New York Medical College, and trained as an obstetrician gynecologist at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Hess currently serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Hess has practiced in all areas of OB/GYN for over 25 years with a special interest in menopause and perimenopause. He believes in the integrative approach - a blend of traditional and natural medicine, and this is the focus of The Perfect Menopause: 7 Steps to the Best Time of Your Life. Dr. Hess is a board certified obstetrician gynecologist, a certified menopause practitioner, and a certified hypnotherapist. He is known for his knowledge and expertise in natural therapies as well as hormonal therapies. Dr. Hess writes and lecturers nationally on the topics of menopause, perimenopause, and other hormone problems.
