Dr. Ragusa has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. He strongly believes that a patient should be treated as a person and that it is far better to prevent or control health problems than to treat them once they appear. He has a strong interest in aggressively controlling chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease and will actively involve his patients and make sure they are a partner by giving them the tools to take control of their own health. A graduate of Clarkson University, his earned his MS at Syracuse University and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Padova, Italy. He did his residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in New York and Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. A Fellow in the American College of Physicians, Member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and as well other professional organizations, Dr. Ragusa has been honored with numerous awards both from professional and industry groups and is very active in mentoring medical students and new physicians. Most recently he was named 2012 Man of the Year in Medicine by the Italian-American Community Center of Rochester, received recognition from MVP for Outstanding Diabetic Care and Teacher of the Year from the Unity Heath System Residency program.
