Rochester General’s comprehensive dialysis services include inpatient, outpatient and at-home therapy supported by a staff of board certified nephrologists, registered nurses, technicians, social workers, dietitians and administrative personnel all focused on the patient’s care and comfort. Services are available for patients 18 and over, who suffer from kidney failure.  Compassionate care is delivered with an emphasis on maximizing patient rehabilitation and independence.

Location Comments: A 48-station outpatient facility for full–care hemodialysis patients is located three miles from Rochester General Hospital. Care is supported by clinical, social work and nutrition experts who specialize in the care of dialysis patients. This state-of-the-art facility provides convenient parking with surface level entry, and a comfortable, spacious treatment area with individual televisions for patients. Peritoneal Dialysis is available at this site. Patients are educated to enable them to perform dialysis therapy in their home using Baxter products. Home Hemodialysis using the NXStage system will be offered effective November 2009.

Location Comments: Inpatient dialysis is located at Rochester General Hospital. A six-station inpatient unit provides dialysis treatment for patients admitted to Rochester General Hospital. Portable equipment is also available to provide bedside care for patients in the intensive care units and others who are unable to be transported to the inpatient dialysis unit.
