In the Emergency Department, you will be examined and treated by an Emergency Department physician employed by the health system. Finger Lakes Health is proud to have the most board-certified emergency medicine physicians of any health system in our region. We have physicians in our Emergency Department 24 hours a day. The emergency care team is comprised of nurses, physicians, and medical technicians who perform laboratory work and diagnostic procedures such as x-rays. In some cases, you may be seen by a physician’s assistant, who works under the direction of the physician or by your own doctor if you have made prior arrangements with him or her.
