Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) is the area’s only children’s hospital, serving as the referral center for all seriously ill or injured children from the 17-county Finger Lakes region. The children’s hospital, a division of the University of Rochester Medical Center and located within Strong Memorial Hospital, is committed to treating all children regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
The 124-bed children’s hospital is a part of the National Assocation of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions or (NACHRI), a database of over 160 children’s hospitals, which offers information about public policy and child health trends. Golisano Children’s Hospital is also one of 170 children’s hospitals affiliated with the nation-wide not-for-profit Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). 100 percent of all locally-made donations to CMN work locally.
Mission: Golisano Children’s Hospital at URMC knows that a hospital stay can be a scary experience, especially for a child. This is why we are committed to helping children and their families know what to expect and how to get the assistance they need. We strive to provide the highest quality care in a bright, welcoming atmosphere where children can be children and their fears can be calmed.
