Us Too Rochester NY and the Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester welcome national expert on end-of-life care, Patricia Bomba, M.D., vice president and medical director, geriatrics, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, who will present about the importance of completing a health care proxy and answer questions from the community.

Bomba is a nationally recognized palliative care and end-of-life expert who designs and oversees the implementation of community projects throughout New York State. At Excellus BCBS, Bomba serves as a geriatric consultant on projects and programs affecting seniors. Bomba is creator of New York state's Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (MOLST) end-of-life care program for seriously ill patients. She serves on the Institute of Medicine's Committee on Transforming End-of-Life Care.
Free printed resources on advance care planning and end-of-life care will be available at the program. More information is available at CompassionAndSupport.org. The talk is being sponsored by Us Too Rochester NY, a peer networking group for men concerned about prostate cancer in the Rochester and Finger Lakes Region.
This initiative is being launched in advance of National Healthcare Decisions Day on April 16.
Each month attendees learn about a variety of topics related to prevention, testing, treatment, research and surviving prostate cancer. Life-partners, family and friends of Us TOO Rochester NY are encouraged to attend. No cover charge. Donations accepted. Registration is requested but not required. Walk-in's welcome.
