This is a free monthly class for clergy and lay ministers who are working with under-served populations in the community and wish to learn more about how to work with people who have mental health issues. We address topics commonly encountered in the congregation, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disease, grief, and addiction. Traditionally our focus has been on how these conditions may affect medically underserved populations and people of color, as well as the interface of mental health professionals with the religious community and spiritual beliefs.
The class is offered on the first Tuesday of each month from 7-9 pm. It lasts a year and participants receive a certificate if they attend 10 sessions.
To register you need to be working with underserved communities in a faith-based context.
