While it has been over 50 years since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last approved a new drug therapy for lupus, scientific findings are providing new tools for physicians to more effectively manage lupus. Active research is also underway to better understand the basic mechanisms underlying lupus as well as provide new treatment targets. Correspondingly, there have been significant advances in how to conduct clinical trials in such a complicated disease as lupus.

The aim of this yearly seminar is to educate individuals with lupus and their families on the clinical challenges of managing lupus, new trends in the management and treatment of lupus, and available community resources.
