Speakers:
Dr. Louis Papa
Primary care physician/internist
Dr. Papa is a recent Rochester Health Community Advisory Committee member, and will be discussing the obesity/diabetes epidemic.
Dr. Papa currently serves as Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. In addition to active medical practice and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Papa has held various professional positions including president of the Monroe County Medical Society, Regional Board Member of Excellus Rochester, Greater Rochester Heart Foundation and CTAAB. He is also a regular panelist on the national PBS program "Second Opinion".
Seth Charatz, D.O.
Endocrinologist
Dr. Charatz attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, New York Medical College, and the University of Massachusetts. He is a board certified in endocrinology and metabolism, and serves as both Senior Clinical Instructor for the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Rochester, and as a clinical instructor in the Physician Assistant Program, at Rochester Institute of Technology. He is also a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society.
Marilyn Konezny
RD, CDN, CDE, CPT
Marilyn is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator and Insulin Pump Trainer with more than 30 years of experience in diabetes and nutrition counseling. She is a graduate of Marywood College (University) and is currently on staff at the Unity Health System Diabetes Center in Rochester, New York. Marilyn also serves as a diabetes consultant for several pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She is an active member of the Rochester Area Diabetes Educators (RADE) chapter of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
