Free Diabetes Community Program about chronic kidney disease. Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, accounting for 44% of new cases in 2005. Learn about how the kidneys work; causes, symptoms, and tests for chronic kidney disease; and tools to reduce risk and slow progression of the disease.

The Regional Diabetes Health Center at Clifton Springs Hospital provides outpatient diabetes educational programs and services to residents of the Finger Lakes region. Additionally, we provide specialized inpatient services within our hospital setting. Our diabetes educators are nurses and a dietitian who are all Certified Diabetes Educators. The Clifton Springs Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Education Program has been Recognized by the American Diabetes Association for providing Quality Self-Management Education in accordance with the National Standards for Diabetes Patient Education Programs. The center is also affiliated with Healthways, Inc., the country's largest provider of specialized diabetes services.
