Girls on the Run is an experiential after school program that uses the power of running to prepare girls in grades 3-8 for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. This 5k is the end of a 10 week season where girls from all over Monroe, Ontario and Wayne counties celebrate all their accomplishments. The 5k is also a fundraising event for this non profit organization. It's non-competitive; simple and down to earth kind of event! Post race food, activities and the feeling that you have just run with the most amazing young girls, coaches and their families.

Girls on the Run is an experiential aftershool program that uses the power of running to prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. The curriculum creatively incorporates training for a 5k with lessons that encourage third through eighth grade girls to develop essential skills. The end of season 5k is where all the girls from three counties come together to run or walk in this event. The public is welcome to register and support the girls and organization. www.gotrrochester.org
