The use of robotic technology in surgeries to treat benign gynecologic conditions and infertility will be the topic of a free seminar offered by Strong Fertility Center. "Robotic Surgery: Game-changer or Gimmick" will be presented at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 21, at The Women's Health Pavilion, 500 Red Creek Drive in Henrietta.

Leading the discussion will be Fertility Specialist Adam M. Griffin, M.D. Griffin is spearheading the use of the daVinci robotic surgical system for minimally-invasive surgery and infertility treatments that involve tubal repair or the reconstruction of a woman's uterus, such as myomectomy, where repair of the uterine wall must be both precise and strong in order to restore fertility and carry a pregnancy to term. This technology can also be used in patients who do not desire fertility treatment but seek a minimally invasive approach to gynecologic surgeries, which typically involve larger incisions.

Griffin also recently launched Strong Fertility Center's Childbearing After Recovery (CARE) program, which assists cancer patients who are faced with treatment choices that can affect their fertility.

Adam M. Griffin, M.D.This free program is open to the public and registration is required. For more information, call
