University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry students, faculty and residents will conduct physicals for Rochester area students on four evenings in August and September.
No appointments are necessary, but physicals will be given only to the first 125 students at each session. Parking at the School of Medicine and Dentistry lot also is free.
Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian or have a signed parental consent form. Schools can provide consent forms.
Immunizations will be provided free of charge by the Monroe County Department of Public Health for those covered by Medicaid or Child Health Plus/Family Health Plus, students without health insurance or adequate coverage and Native Americans. Students should bring their immunization records.
The physicals are provided courtesy of the Center for Advocacy, Community Health, Education and Diversity and the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. The School of Medicine and Dentistry has provided free physicals to more than 1,500 students in the last five years.
