The Finger Lakes Triathlon is the biggest annual fundraiser for the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center. The Center has been treating adults and children affected by bleeding disorders in the region for over 50 years and is a recognized national leader in the field. In 2003 we decided to have a triathlon be our biggest annual fundraiser. This choice was made because of how critical it is for people with hemophilia to find ways to live active healthy lives. Being fit helps to mitigate the effects of the condition and this is extremely important to instill in our child patients early on. We also thought it would be a great way to bring this message of health and fitness to the whole community. Every year we strive to put on a well-organized, fun and competitive race for athletes of all abilities to enjoy.

The Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center, located in Rochester New York, has been serving people who suffer from bleeding and blood-related disorders for over 50 years. Our Center was one of the first NHF chapters chartered outside of New York City, and the first free-standing comprehensive care clinic in the nation. We are one of very few combined treatment centers and chapters in the country.
