For deaf individuals, being able to see well is the key to successful communication through sign language and lip reading. Ophthalmologists Holly B. Hindman, M.D.,and Rajeev S. Ramchandran, M.D., from the University of Rochester's Flaum Eye Institute will lead a free community discussion on maintaining eye health at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Rochester Recreational Club for the Deaf, 1564 Lyell Ave. The talk, part of RRCD's "Deaf Health Talk" series, is sponsored by a grant from the Center for Community Health.
Hindman and Ramchandran will help attendees better understand eye disease and provide them with strategies to keep their vision in top shape for years to come. American Sign Language interpreters will be provided.
