National HIV Testing Day is a national campaign to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS and the importance of getting an HIV test recognized annually on June 27. It was started in 1995 by the National Association of People With AIDS (NAPWA) to send the message "Take the Test, Take Control," to those at risk for HIV from those already living with HIV.

In honor of this day, AIDS Care will be holding an event on Wednesday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its Health Outreach Project Office at 416 Central Avenue. In addition to free HIV testing, participants can enjoy a free lunch!
